Russel and Alden come to mind, but... I'd be interested to know more.
This was straight from one of the guys who works at Yuketen. He described the idea that Yuketen are made by Quoddy as an urban myth. According to him, the companies worked together a couple of years ago but it's been over for a while.I asked because I was interested in knowing who to send my shoes to for resoling etc. He said to send 'em right back to Yuketen. He was pretty excited about this Goodyear/moccasin hybrid.....according to him it has the comfort of a moccasin with the toughness and the stability of Goodyear construction. I don't know which models are going to use it but there is at least going to be a Maine Guide Boot done using it. Contrary to my post in the EG thread the Ranger Mocc doesn't use it although it does have a midsole. They are adding sales points quite quickly in Europe and the USA seems to be on the back burner relatively speaking. When I told him there was a bit of a buzz he seemed surprised but very pleased.

That's weird because I rang BG at the start of March and they quoted me about $180-190 for the boat shoe. Are American Rag that much more expensive or are my wires crossed?

Very interesting, thank you. I'm excited to see the hybrids this fall.

Without surfing through this thread, do they make a navy boat shoe?

That "Tie Oxford" looks to me like the same shoe as the Ranger Mocc, but made up in shell. They also do a really nice mocc boot in cordovan but I've never seen it for sale, even on the Japanese sites. I can't wear boat shoes for cultural reasons, so I'm with you on that.

I got my Ranger Mocs in from Oi Polloi today.

Amazing, epic, and they didn't fit my stupid wide feet.

Quantitatively, they're as good as my Russell safari boots I'm wearing right now. If they fit, I'd have no problem keeping them for the price I paid.

Comparative fit, they're pretty close to topsiders in fit, true to size.

Just got a pair of the ranger mocs today (thanks mrsmiff!) and they're pretty awesome. Much nicer than quoddy and ralph lauren mocs.
