Thanks, I really like them too. As someone mentioned they are whiskey shell.

I picked them up new from a fine fellow SF member

Interestingly, theshoemart.com from whence they came just restocked these and some other hard to find Alden shoes yesterday or the day before.

I am waiting for the picture of the Ravello captoe bluchers to show up....

I don't think much of that money will be reaching Sydney. However, if you are referring to another type of "stimulus package" you may be on to something.

These arrived in the mail today. I know they have been photographed to death however I am quite happy with them and this is my take. The color is very nice.

Not keen on the last. Stretches the shoe out. Loss of elegance. An inch off the toe cap and a bit of rounding would do wonders. The colour is lovely though. Best thing about them.

A chap I work with has a pair of shoes which are completely pointed at the end and look like womens' shoes. He only needs to pop on a stiletto heel and he's there. Silly chap.

Perhaps we detect in the changing shape of the last the subconcious desire of men to catch the eye of women in the workplace? Perhaps this is to do with the feminisation of culture? "Face" from the A-Team has important things to say on the subject. In the 1980s women dressed like men (power dressing, shoulder pads), today men dress like women, or dress as liberally as women. Dress code gone, suit in the cupboard: wear shoes like them, catch their eye.

These days I do feel the urge to kick once of those teenagers who wear his trousers round his thighs, his underpants sticking out, ***********! I hestitate - in the UK I'd probably be knifed!
