I definitely prefer sporty girls to these Victoria Beckham types.

Yep I'm married. She bears a remarkable likeness to this young lady which may account for my unusual comments. I believe it was my wife (then girlfriend) wearing leather pants and a leopard-skin half top that made me seriously think about proposing...

Now that's the attitude- a sort of resigned skepticism about the sartorialist while acknowledging that one is always going there to look at the photos.

I'm with you- go 80's!

What's fun about the left hand pic, besides Ms Martelo, is that she is standing on a flat block of safety in a sea of cobblestones- must be a nightmare trying to walk there in those heels.

I love this. So well fitting, great upper lower contrast, and amazing use of denim. Everything is a yes.

^^^ As far as fit goes, there have been far worse on the blog--but I'm not sure what's so remarkable about this. Is he wearing a zip-up mock neck sweater over his shirt and scarf? The color sticking up and out like that looks sloppy to my eyes.

This is a typical Parisian look - wouldn't be surprised if that was where the photo was taken

What makes it characteristically Parisian?

No, chambray work shirt. Loosen up; sometimes sloppy is ok.

Casual is fine. But plain old sloppy? Never fine in my book.
