I want to buy a pair of C&J Whitehalls, but I just dont know what size to get.

I have the Benton - Ralph Lauren Polo (supposedly Belgrave) in a US 10D, UK 9.5 per the box and I am happy with the fit.

I ordered the Connaught from PLAL in a UK 9.5 and they were without question too big.

Will a UK 9.5 work for me on the 330?

+1. I realize this is unsolicited advice, but IMO the 330 is one of C&J's least attractive lasts, even more so in person than in photos. If you're in the market for a black captoe, compare the Whitehall to the sleaker, more elongated Hurst on the 351. Though I'm not crazy about the Hurst's six eyelets.

-1000. 330 is beautiful. I have the Downing, as well as shoes on the 337, 348, 318, 238 and I've handled the 341 and I'd say the 330 is my favorite of the lot.

The 330 is a blobby last well suited to the black captoe, a style which to me does not work as a sleek elongated shoe.

I do not know your feet but like jimmy i would suggest the 9, although I have never bought a pair of shoes without trying them on.

Your box says (I guess) 10D/9.5 but unfortunately we do not know whether that 9.5 is 9.5E or 9.5F, as Barton's CJ equivelant, Belgrave, is available in both widths.

This is a problem I have as well. I have the RL Barton and RL Redding boots, which are both US 10D made on the 337 last and fit me like a glove. I don't have experience with 330 (last of Whitehall) and 236 (last of Connaught). But I cannot even solve my problem with respect to finding the UK equivalent of 337 last despite I have RL shoes made on this last.

According to a post in the below thread, UK 9.5E Weymouth, which is also made on 337 last as in Barton and Redding, would fit to a US 10.5D.

So which one would fit to a US 10D? 9F? 9E?

To the OP: I thought that finding the right UK equivalent of our Barton's may assist us in finding the right size on another last by comparing the lasts as per the threads that compare the fit of the various C&J lasts.

The 330 certainly does not fit smaller than the 236. I'd go down a half-size.

And count me as a 330-lover.

OP: BTW, where are you going to buy the Whitehall? It seems Plal does not carry it. Pediwear does not have it in your size. Only Ben Silver has it for an exorbitant price.

Could one not place an order with Pediwear for a size that they do not have in stock? I'd rather wait than pay an 'exorbitant price'.

I believe you can still buy them direct from C&J as well. They're still making them.
I just ordered mine from pediwear.

Grimslade: Have you ordered the Whitehall from pediwear in a size currently not available on pediwear's website? If so, how long will take for you to receive?
