Hello,
I'm always in search of the perfect white shirt to wear open collar. One that stands straight up, and a bit higher than average. Any suggestions? I'm a pretty well versed shopper and can't seem to find just what I'm looking for.
thanks!

Made to measure. If you have a long neck like me then get a high collar. If not I wouldn't try it.

I agree. If you have a short neck don't try this option. If you still are looking ask your local tailor to custom make the collar for you. If they custom cut each lining then this shouldn't be an issue

Try Finamore or Barba at shopthefinest.com. They are spread collars and quite high.

^ I tried both and they are a bit higher, but the collars fall down flat. One tip I can give is with my MTM shirts I always have collars stays built in and then have the button downs put underneath and they stay up perfectly all the time.

Polo's Regent Custom Fit collars are also quite high and moderately spread. They are my favorite collars. They are high enough that in combination with the relatively shorter pt length, the they tend to lay down better than other shirts when not wearing a tie. I find some spread collar shirts that aren't very tall or have longer pt lengths that sans tie tend to wing out like Saturday Night Fever .
