More dandy? That I can agree on. Less elegant is, I think, not mutually exclusive.

I'm sure my eye would be trained differently if I grew up in Australia, where it seems chelseas are work wear.

I would consider a jodhpur to be rural based on its origins alone. Wouldn't have thought it a city thing for a minute. Though I know how these things get to be ambiguated.

Chat's the difference between derby boots and chukka boots? Aren't chukkas also derbys (i.e. open lacing)?

I used to be foolish like this. Then I saw the chukka light. They are fantastic, especially in winter.

Chukkas are a very specific type of derby boots, generally a plain toe and have one or two eyelets.

The boot on the left here is a derby boot but not a chukka
