Does any of you have this book? (Amazon link)

Would you recommend it?

(I know there's been a thread about this before, but it's 4 years old and I was wondering what the current posters thought about it...)

When I was searching this forum about the quality of the John Lobb book, most people recommended this book instead - apparently it's a great read

It's a good book. The measurement pictures are from my bespoke maker, Balint, not Vass.

^^ What do you find lacking about it?

I'm not really looking to know every detail about how to craft shoes, just some insights.

But I'm hoping to get some educated advice on shoe maintenance and learn a little about the various shoe types, their history and intended uses.

Would you say it delivers on those subjects?

I have that and it is quite an interesting coffee table book. But if you want educated advise, I think you'd get more mileage researching and asking around here in the forum.

I have it. I would say nice pictures, not more.

I have it in English and in French (gift from brother). Great book - discussion of various makers could benefit from an update now

It has great pics, it isn't really a comprehensive book about Handmade shoes. It's basically about Vass only. It's cheap though, so you can't really go wrong.
