Is Ralph Lauren the most popular brand among SFers?

Everyone is wearing or selling RL. There is not a RL store close to where I live so I feel lost in all this RLmania.

I think it's just the vast range of stuff he offers, at nearly every pricepoint and style. He has something for just about everybody. Couple that with the good sales/discounts you can get and voila... one ends up with lots of RL in his closet.

I actually particularly enjoy the Purple Label sportscoats/suits. They fit me pretty good OTR.

Shoes I like both the Purple label by EG and the old C&J line

Everything else depends on my mood.

As has been said, the RL empire is all-encompassing.

Yes, but only if witnessed by a forest ranger. Otherwise it doesn't count.

It is true that Ralph Lauren is a popular brand of clothing but I wouldn't say it is the most popular. I do hear mention of it quite often on herte but I can't say that I see people wearing it as much in everyday life. You have to remember that we are a few select on here and just because something as become somewhat of a majority on here is not always going to be a global thing amoungst others.

I wear RL because I have come to trust the brand over a 20 year period of wearing RL.

I'd say so. It probably has more to do with who makes his stuff than any affinity for the label.

- Suits/Jackets by St. Andrews, Caruso, and Corneliani
- Shoes by Edward Green and Crockett and Jones
- Widely available at rock bottom clearance prices

Not hard to figure out why people here like it.

Jesus, the qualifier is right in the subject line "among SFers".

I'd also add that in addition to the quality of the makers, the cuts of the suits and coats are top notch. Plus you have various options for cuts across the lines (ie many peoples affinity for RLBL given the slim cut)

Market segmentation strategy taken to another level. FTW!
