^ Isn't there a street in Kensington Market with several thrift stores? I remember them being pretty good, esp. for sweaters, duffle coats, denim and flannel shirts.

It's real... its an older vintage talbott

Recently bought this early '80's thrift tie for $1.05. The hook is that I sold clothes at Marty's in Ann Arbor then and this label is from the East Lansing (Mich State U) store run by one of Marty's sons.

Haven't bragged in a while, but I recently picked up a BB peak lapel tuxedo that fits me almost perfectly, including a cummerbund, two bow ties and the white silk braces, for $60. Not sure I need it, so it might show up for sale at some point.

The annual Junior League of Phoenix Rummage Sale was yesterday. I was working, but my wife found me a nice pull-over, button-down, cotton, Reyn Spooner aloha shirt for $2.

Checked out Salvation Army in Manassas, VA, yesterday and Woodbridge the day before

J Crew jacket
Burberry current label sports coat
Brooks Brothers olive green silk-wool-linen sports coat
3 Harris Tweed jackets in very good condition
and some shirts from Tommy Bahama, Faconnable, Brooks Brothers non-iron, Jhane Barnes, RLP, Prada

left behind a nice pair of Bally monks, Allen Edmonds split toes and loafers (the names escape me) in pretty good condition

Not to persist in being a buzzkill, but I would suspect that most guys who would sneer at thrifting aren't buying used clothes to start with. The nice stuff would disappear from the thrift forum just as fast as in regular B&S, unless you really insisted on trades. Then, I imagine, things would slow way down. But I'd be pretty irritated if there was something I wanted and had nothing to trade, or the other guy traded it to someone else while we were negotiating.

Maybe you guys could start a thread in B&S and see how it goes? My reluctance is just having yet another forum to check, especially when I suspect it won't get that much traffic, in terms of items posted.

It's about a 42 R and thankfully it fits me like a dream! Of course I would have picked it up even if it wasn't my size and offer it up on the newly created Official Thrifter's Trading Post!
