I got my first pair of aldens, a pair of 9901 black bluchers in cordovan. I have not worn them yet, but have put them on a couple times and noticed that the left one is slightly wider than the right one. By a minuscule amount on the sole, but still noticeable. It is a little looser and you can see that the front stitching of the facing is different on each shoe. The squares made by the stitching in the front of the facing is larger on the left shoe.

My question is, is this to be expected? Should I do anything about it?

the variance is to be expected, it's only a problem if they don't fit right because of it.

I'm looking to sell a pair of Alden 405s size 10D. Sorry if this not the right place to sell, not sure were to post this. They are 1 year old. I love them but they are just a little too big on me. I can post pictures if needed.
Thanks

Yenni at J. Gilbert sent me this picture of a new model they got in. Should be on the plaza last in #8 shell.

I just purchased a pair of vintage 990 shell plain toes with metal eyelets. The patina is cigar .The new heel liners are unmarked but the 990 and 10 B/D are quite clear. In your opinion are they Alden or BB? Did Alden ever make a 990 with eyelets? I think I recall Leather Soul selling some in certain sizes. Your help is appreciated.

I am looking for the tassle corodovan black and just hate to pay over $500 including the Shoe Mart, and wanted to know if anyone knows a store that discounts the cordovan line in these tough times?
