I realize this has been asked before, but I need a suit altered within a week. I will be home in SF for a week, and I need to get my RLBL suit altered. I'd rather have it done in SF than the small town where I'm currently located.

I'd greatly appreciate recommendations for a tailor who does great work and with a fast turnaround time. Thanks

Since you have been "tailor-whoring," perhaps you can tell me which one has a fast turnaround time. Thanks.

I've had really fast work done at Edel on 18th St, near Diamond. I think they're pretty good. They've slimmed pants and shirts, done hems and waists of pants, fixed the lining of jackets, extended sleeves, and shaped the waists of jackets. All good work, done in one to three days. Not real cheap, but not crazy expensive. They're able to make custom stuff, including canvased coats. The work seems good, but my standards aren't the highest.

Stay away from Jon Minor in the Union Square area.
He ruined a pair of my slacks which I had purchased in
London.

My own tailor, who is exceptional, is Bob Stankovic in
Menlo Park ( 650-323- 9614). I do no know about quick
turnaround, however. I always tell him to take all the
time he needs.

I use Oxford Tailors right off Union Square. The number is 415-956-2606. Carlos has done a wide range of things for me over the years and I've been very happy.
