I wouldn't say he 'destroyed' him. He took the first, no doubt. Karo took the second, no doubt. I would have scored the third in Dong Hyun's favor, but I wouldn't consider that to be clear cut. Interestingly the Sherdog guys scored it as a split decision draw....

I suspect part of Machida's success in using sweeps is the fact that most of his opponents are not coming from a background where sweeps are a staple technique.

A little late but I actually did catch the fight there. I think it's my new spot unless I decide to order the fight at my place (not likely)

+1 Grab and sweep/strike and sweep are Shotokan basics. Enshin Karate and Siedo Kaikan Karate also are big on these. I recently sparred with some Enshin guys and damn does that stuff surprise you if you're not used to it.

I thought this was a joke when I read about it this morning. This fight makes as much sense as Ortiz-Shamrock III, and I doubt it will actually happen.

I really want to see Lesnar duke it out with Emelianenko. I would put my summer income on the line.

Penn is fighting an uphill battle. GSP will destroy him if they fight again. I am really suprised at what I read on sherdog.

What, no discussion of UFC 95?

It's free, so I suppose we can't really complain about the UFC foisting a glorified Fight Night upon us.

Free is always good. The only fight I'm interested in is Josh Koscheck v. Paulo Thiago, I like seeing new fighters. I think it will go to the ground quickly where Koscheck will probably overpower Thiago, but we'll see. I think Koscheck's ground game vs BJJ black belts is weak, but if he can avoid being submitted, his striking will carry him through.

The main event will be watchable but not something I'm going to be all pumped up about.
