It's not a black and white issue. Sometimes toggle backs are a superior design and sometimes it is in poor taste. It has to do with the design of the item, cost, materials, effect desired blah blah blah. If you had a pair of a toilet for a gag, I suppose it would be cool to have a roll de convenience on the other end of a chain but would someone want to go that far? Perhaps if you were the Charmin CEO, you might get it done in 18k with an onyx seat cover and mother of pearl roll.

If I can inspire only one person each day, I have done my job as a Senior Member of this august Internet body.

Every time you bring your stand-up snark routine to a thread and take it over FTW, you have done your job. Today is no exception.

I will wear virtually anything that was given to me as a gift -- when you have small children this means some bad ties and a lot of kitschy toggle-back cufflinks.

I also get a lot of free sport-related casual clothing -- tees, hoodies, jackets, hats, toques, sweatpants/windpants. I wear them all, quality be damned.

Underwear and socks are both disposable, and so I purchase them with utter and complete disregard for quality, construction or fabric.

Merona boxers, y'all -- 2 for $6 on clearance. I'm the only one who sees 'em ('cept the little woman, but she doesn't seem to mind), and the talc and I have no problem making these work.

I know it's technically inferior, but I prefer this forum to the advanced forum.

I see what you are saying, but it does seem like a real shortcoming to have only one side of your cuff not properly dressed when all it would take is a little more cost to dress both sides. I wouldn't have an issue with toggle cufflinks if the toggle side wasn't just a metal bar.
