Yeah, I had found stuff from this guy last year, that was my all time best find.
This guy is the CEO that runs all the parking garages in Chicago, he has mostly MTM Oxxford suits.
I will keep on it to see if he unloaded any Brioni or Kiton like last time....
Last Year it was:
2 MTM Oxxford Suits
1 Kiton Cashmere Jacket
2 Current Brioni Cashmere Jackets
2 Zegna MTM Suits
2 Dunhill (Zegna) Blazers, 1 is DB Cashmere, there were 2 more I didnt snag
1 Sid Jerome cashmere shirt coat
A bunch of great ties and shirts that have melted into my wardrobe or been given away.
The total haul cost me $72.00 and were all mint.
This one I have yet to really look at as I am out of town on business.

^My best motherload was Oxxfords too. At least a half-dozen sportcoats, all $4 each.

Have you guys ever come across an Oxxford shirt? All I've come across are a few suits, sportcoats and odd trousers. I'd kill to find an Oxxford shirt in my size....

I actually found one yesterday. I don't know if it's a Kiton one (no country of origin tag), but it's really nice - wouldn't surprise me.

Does it have handwork on the armholes?
Kitons buttons are very distinct as well.

Rounding out a good week for shoes, picked up a very nice pair of the Weston 677 chasse in a sort of chestnut color this morning--great condition and perfect fit (could be yet another bit of charitable largesse from iammatt, I guess) ($10.49). And then two more Hogg, Sons & JB Johnstone suits--lightweight fine wide-spaced pinstripes in light grey and charcoal ($19.99 each). These were from ten years later than the previous suit and, sadly, the original customer had used those intervening years to put about an inch on his waist (thus throwing off my perfect fit). Continuing on, fun fine blue plaid cotton shirt with epaulets from Beretta ($4.49). To top it all off, Acurus cd player ($20, great sound) and ten yards of Scalamandre silk damask ($8.99). I'm all shopped out.

9 vintage ties ($1.00 ea.), a few were YSL, a couple knit, and a few wool ones too. Also bought a single breasted trench coat for $8.00, and a silk ps for $1.00. All in all, a great day for thrifting.

Remember when I had doubts about your amazing finds. You convinced me long ago that all is for real. And if anyone were to find a Duke of Windsor item, I would be surprised if it weren't you.

Does anyone know if the Duke visited San Francisco often.

BTW: I very rarely thrift but after your posts I sometimes give it a try and follow your suggestions. Most interesting thing I ever found was a sport coat that had belonged to GHWB ( not GWB ). and had an owner's tag with his name on it. And it was at a Church sale here in Houston on Woodway DR., where GHWB and Barbara go to Church. This was pre SF days. If I can find it, I'll post a picture.

It's an Acurus acd-11. I'm sure true high-enders would scoff at it, but it's a definite step up from the various Sony ES players I've been using.

rnoldh, I think the Duke did visit SF from time to time, but I have yet to find any tangible evidence. SF was then both more and less provincial.
Who made the GHWB jacket? I recall him being a big J. Press fan (don't think he would have harbored, say, an inner Chipp).
