My local grocery store has these Krusovice (Czech) lager .5L bottles for $1.79. I've been drinking these quite a bit lately. Goes down real easily.

Their dark version is also not half bad.

No I love where I live. When I hear people bash Jersey I just assume that they havent been to any of the nice / desirable parts. BUT lets keep this thread about beer and not let it turn into a Jersey bashing free for all like every thread that Jersey is mentioned in.

It's by no means my favorite, but someone should mail me a few 12 packs of Fat Tire. Sadly, it's not available here and I developed a taste for it while out West this summer.

Pabst Blue Ribbon... but only because i wish i was a hipster.

Otherwise I like the Hoegarden ($3.50 a pint at Corner Bistro).

And beyond that... I like Belgian beer (some good place on West 4th near 6th ave)

I go back and forth so much on beers.

I love small batch, expensive, exotic, 7%+ whatever seasonal rare beers. Love em.

Then I taste a dreaded Heineken (superbowl party), or coors light (BYOB indian restaurant) and they seem fine too. Perfectly drinkable. And I used to hate Heineken.

+1 This is a great beer, and I can usually find it for like $7/8 per sixer. The APV% is north of 7% which is nice for taking the edge off of a long day.

I would have to disagree with most of your selections here, but much like in other areas of style if you like it then by all means consume it. The lone exception is Red Stripe. I love this beer!

I've been waiting all month for my local Winking Lizzard to tap their shipment of Sierra Nevada Weizenbock. Went out with some coworkers last Friday to try it. It was very good.

Agree on the Optimator. One of my go-to beers. Great malty taste and fairly inexpensive.

Optimator used to be my Sip-and-get-smashed beer, but after a while it started to taste really gasoline-like and a bit off, so I haven't had it in a while. Strong stuff though.
