They are two completely different albums. If anything is another "OKC" it would be "HTTT" simply because the themes and sonic qualities are easily comparable: dark, brooding, and paranoid.

"IR" is simply too stripped down of an album and is definitely not the concept album "OKC" is, even if quite a few songs on "IR" are rewrites from the "OKC" era or earlier.

Overrated? sure (wasnt OK Computer voted BEST ALBUMM EVARR or some ****?), but it doesn't mean they arent superb. They are the only active white group I listen to

OK Computer is a haunting and stunning work. It has aged surprisingly well, but I believe its impact when listened to today cannot be compared to what it was when the album was first released. Today, the album is less unique musically, and the theme is less novel and has been explored more.

While the Bends is also an epic album, my vote goes to OK Computer.

I gave up on radiohead after the bends. I was really disappointed by OK computer. For me the bends and my iron lung era eps are the best things they ever did. They've just been trying too hard ever since.

This.

That said, I fell off the wagon at Kid A, but In Rainbows shows some promise thus far.

Overrated possibly, but that is the fault of media. This band has had the same influence on music that Nirvana had. They are the real deal. I have also had a bit of a knee jerk reaction to the hype and can't always follow their artistic choice but they do continue to produce some great music and amazing live performances. I choose the bends for the same reasons who listed. Fake Plastic Trees has a great place in my memory both video and song. Saw them at the then Palace on the bends tour.

Isn't that because a ton of bands today were influenced by OK Computer?

Also: I'm with cheessus on this: I'll say OK Computer but take Kid A over either.

Yes, for example Coldplay. Coldplay's formula was "make songs like Radiohead-lite, remove ugly front man, insert sexy man"

I think the song writing in IR is a lot better than on OK. It definitely has no concept though and a lot of the lyrics are meaningless. However, the atmosphere of the album is great

OK Computer is good. The Bends is good too.

However, Kid A is the winner for me.
