I voted for drape but I pretty much like all of the posted jackets.

Oh, he hates. Oh, does he hate. More than that, he thinks fresco basically disqualifies a person from participation in modernity. He also insists that, whatever your personal experience with the cloth, you are wrong and that the universal truth is that it perfoms badly and does not travel well.

Some epic recent exchanges with Vox and dopey on this.

When will the drape-on-drape crime stop??

I admit, I do love the properly deployed drape. A touch of it, anyway. But I still don't think I'd choose it for myself. Maybe in a few years.

That is also the reason why (I think) when they are posted, bespoke looks with draped jackets make more of an impression.
On the other hand, how many guys do we have posting really nicely done clean coats? No slight to Yachtie, of course, but there seems to be a critical mass of drape bespeakers. For a long time, there was little bespoke pictured at all, and now the most of it is drapey. If someone came along and started posting his collection of John Steed-esque clean coats, I'd be all over that, and I'm guessing it probably wouldn't be long before we'd see more of it.

Helps your cause that you drape guys are so chatty too.

. I feel honored to be quoted by you. I'm a mere RTW wearer whose tie knot lies limp on my chest like a dead baby squirrel

Don't worry Vox, you pay people who pay people to understand what I'm talking about.

It was an apt comparison by Manton earlier although Vitamininc picked up on the CS implications which is commonly used (and for which it serves as a pun in addition to being apt).

Arise, oh Le Bernadin diner. You are more than a RTW wearer...you are RTW lapel re-roller, a consumate closeteer.

I still wear RTW a lot myself, so I feel your pain. We suffer together, like brothers.

You keep on using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
