Thanks for the pictures. I think I've decided on the AF-43's for the black boot. The plain toe probably would look better in most of my casual situations. I'm going to take some jean pics with my cordo #8 Indy's and post on here a little later.

I know this issue has been covered before but I have a question about Indy boot sizing:

I wear a 10.5E in dress shoes and a 10 in Redwing GTs. What size would work best in the Indys?

The grant has a more "bulbous" toe box I believe. Plaza last is just a bit sleeker shoe, imo.

How long does it take to break these in? They hurt my feet like hell when I wore them the last three days. Nice creasing already though.

Not long. They shouldn't hurt at all.

edit. btw, J. Gilbert has some new custom models in (chukkas, wingtips, bluchers) but I passed on them all because they raised their prices by $50 or so. $500+ for calfskin alden's after sales tax is nuts.

Do Aldens ever go on sale? Or perhaps more appropriately, are there any predictable sales I could look forward to?

With all the price reductions lately, its hard to pay retail for anything.

They had some aldens on sale at the boutique in Chinatown (Washington DC).

Robin, they shouldn't hurt at all, or they shouldn't hurt at all after breaking them in?
