You can go back a little further than that:

Goldeneye was far from the best game on N64. Obviously, the best game was Ocarina of Time. Props to the guy who mentioned Banjo Kazooie.

I must be the oldest guy on the planet. That's the first cheat code you used??!! My first was, of course, Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right Start.

30 men in just about any Konami game.

This is the first game I ever remember playing on my dad's old pre-8086 home computer. It was called "Alley Cat" (circa 1982-1983ish)

I also remember being a big fan of Zaxxon on that same computer

Later when we got our blazing fast 386 that ran Windows 3.0 I was able to run the first FPS shooter ever - Catacomb Abyss! It was also the first game I ever remember pirating from a local BBS site.

Followed soon with Wolfenstein 3D

And I remember installing the very first edition of Alone In The Dark on a 486 without a CD-Rom drive. It took at least a dozen floppy disks circa 1992

The failed hotlinked picture was supposed to be this:

Also, is this a classic already?

Young whippersnappers! To me a classic video game means something like "M.U.L.E." or "Dr. J and Larry Bird Go One on One" ...

I could never get behind a game where you'd lose health by just walking around. Then death would come out and zap about 150 health points....its like they're telling you to hurry up and get off.

Good call, I loved Gauntlet and also, I the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 4-player side-scroller!

Remember the NEO-GEO arcade games? It was always a challenge to find a box with only good games.

Not sure what other people think, but I have fond memories of that game.

Wait, is that UT or UT2k3? I have my fond memories mixed up.

My A1200 has been gathering dust but have been running Amiga Forever every so often mostly for my all time favourite, Turrican II. Plus occassional bouts of Project X, Sensible Soccer and Super Stardust. Loved some of the simple Amsoft games for the CPC464, like Harrier Attack and Oh Mummy!, lol.
