As a lifelong Methodist I was really shocked when I recently attended a Baptist Church. I'd never heard the words "Hell" or "Satan" in church when i was growing up. I heard them about a dozen times in my first (and last) Baptist service. They seem to believe in the stick a hell of a lot more than the carrot.

Hardcore.

..... How'd you get to be a METHODIST for a lifetime and not hear about damnation all the time? The Methodists were the people whose entire church-growth strategy began with storming into other people's churches on Sunday mornings, raiding the pulpit and telling the shocked congregations that they were all going to Hell unless they repented from liberalism or Papistry or whatever. They changed the entire Asshole Missionary game forever, God love 'em. Too bad things change. Church would be a lot more interesting if people were doing that on a bi-weekly basis.
