What do you guys think about this model? I've never seen it discussed on the board before, but I like the look of it, particularly in brown (and on sale).

I've seen it on Alden SF's website, but I could never get past the funky gathering at the stitching around the throat.

It was discontinued for a reason.

My taste in shoes is certainly not SF standard but I hate the look of those shoes. I much prefer the look of the AF66.

It did strike me as uncharacteristic for Alden. Nonetheless, I like it, ungainly stitching and all. If only it were more heavily discounted.

The stitching certainly does detract from the overall esthetics of the shoe

I'm surprised. I would have thought the stitching and bunching to be very iGent. Like spalla camicia and shirring, but on a shoe.

Perhaps Alden should re-badge them as Kiton specials.

but not all of us are iGents, or some of us purport to be, but deep down inside don't have the true sensibilities to support it.

I don't practice snark, which is why I'm so clumsy at it.

No, no. Kiton is very un-iGent. Maybe it was iGent at one point, but I think that time passed several years ago. If nothing else, the coming of the Truth spelled its end. The iGent of 2009 has little use for popularized, high-end made-to-measure. WW Chan or Rubinacci are his choices.

Small-time iGents go to A&S.

Like love, iGentry is something that happens to you, not something you choose.

Rubinacci's sleeve heads are bunched up like Kiton's? How do igents tolerate it?
