Hi Everyone,

Any suggestions on a warm (NYC winter weather) solid charcoal (preferably dark ) overcoat in a cashmere-wool blend for everyday business wear (with a suit) would be awesome!

I'm looking to spend $200-300.

In the DC area, the Off 5th saks outlet store was carrying some overcoats in that price range. They were very difficult to size so you would need to try them on to find the one you wanted. I believe they were cashmere and Michael Kors.

Go to Century 21 downtown on the 2nd floor Mens section. All along the perimeter they have a lot of nice coats on sale. In your price point they have some Cerrutti (spelling?) coats on sale. Of course, i am not sure what your size is and i am not sure how nice Cerrutti is. lol They also have some Burberry and YSL overcoats at a slightly higher price point.

But as far as i can tell Century 21 is your best bet (at your price point)... assuming you live in NYC.

I have the perfect coat for business wear if you're a 40R and willing to stretch your budget a little - check my sig.

This coat will last forever. It definitely much more suited to a NYC winter than an Australian winter (40F at the coldest) - which was my big mistake. Ugh.

Filene's Basement often seems to have such coats.

Aaargh. I have this Lauren Ralph Lauren topcoat. Shabby construction and the buttons fell off with the first wear. If you will wear it daily, I would stay away from the Lauren label.

Most SF members will concur.

However, there's not much else for new topcoats in the $200-$300 range.

Maybe you should wait until April/May to find good winter markdowns.
