I saw a yellow gold Rolex GMT II the other day and I thought it was so cheesy that it was awesome (The $$$$$ price tag was not awesome). I also like dress watches in pink gold with leather straps.

Just wondering what y'all think of them. Would you sport one?

I have a couple of gold vintage Omegas.

Left: 1967 Omega Connie Piepan in 18k pink gold; Right: 1946 Omega Bumper Auto in 18k yellow gold.

I have watches made of all the standard metals - yellow, white and rose gold and stainless. I have no platinum at the moment. Like you, I like rose gold - I find it very warm in appearance.

I could never understand the hordes of people who only go for white metals until I got a platinum wedding band and then figured it would be nice to have a watch that matched the band.

With respect to gold watches on bracelets, there is definitely an element of bling to that look. However, I'll never forget a time when I was growing up - I was probably 10 and knew nothing about watches. I was on vacation in the Caribbean with my family, and there was a chap with an 18K yellow Submariner. I thought it was the coolest watch I'd ever seen. I now think the watch is blingy, but it's also the first watch I ever loved and will always have a special place in my heart for that sentimental reason. I'll probably get one eventually (or a GMT) just to realize a youtful dream.

Totally agree, though two tone sports watches might be even more epic failures.. The older I get, the more I like yellow gold on cufflinks and dress watches. I used to hate it.

I'm a fan of rose gold on a strap. I think the look can be elegant and classy.

A gold watch with a gold bracelet is something I would never wear or buy.

agreed, stainless on a sports watch.

i like precious metal dress watches, but a dress watch being stainless wouldnt deter me from buying it.

I never really liked pure gold color watches too gaudy for my taste. I own some rose gold which is a nicer warmer color imo. the rest of my watches are the silver or stainless steel color. i think 2 tone is a nice too. But then again that is just my taste. I never really liked leather strap watches either

I don't usually like gold on sports watches either, but I love the blue TT Submariner. Goes against everything I usually like, but I find it attractive for some reason.
