Seems like I am wearing loafers at least three times a week now, and only have a couple of pair. Any recs on good loafer styles? I'd like to pick up at least one more.

Do you have a side gusset?

Or just a plain old Gucci horsebit? The classic type?

I have neither. I have a pair of round toe from Lattanzi, and a pair of Vass in the U-last. Do you suggest these?

Yes I do. Try reverse calf on the side gussett to tone it down from a town shoe.

I don't think the Guccis are made quite a nicely as in their glory days, but the ones that they have now aren't too far off. They should be considered disposable shoes...wear them to hell, toss, replace.

Pelt me with tomatoes maybe for suggesting it but how about a pair of classic, handsewn Sebago's? It doesn't get more "classic" loafer than that. And for the price, they're practically throw aways.

I got a pair when I was 17 and tossed them when I was about 36... resoled a few times and beat the hell out of them and they just kept keeping on.

Lobb Lopez, EG Buckingham, and unlined shell by Alden for BB are my top three. I want some spectator loafers from EG next.

I have two EG side-gusset shoes (one in edwardian and one in dark brown suede) and get pretty good use out of them. I also have the JL Campus which, like the Weston, is a nice iconic style.
