Here's a pic I took in the BBCompany...you can see them in the middle rack, in black and oxblood

Damn those are exactly what I want! Thanks man. I'll have to see if they'll do an online sale for them since I'm pretty positive of the size. I saw the brogues you posted in the recent purchases thread too. May need a pair of those as well.

If you don't have pictures, but own a pair. How do they feel? Would they be too clunky for a very, VERY, casual work setting?

Sorry, I don't have any pics of my brogues but I can tell you they're even more comfortable than my 1461s because they have a sort of padded insole. Mine are the grey ones and I wear them with my APCs all the time. I wear them with black denim too and I think they look great.

As to the formality, my office is probably the least formal office on earth and I wear them all the time. I am always the most dressed person there but I like it that way really.

Sweet. Thanks.

As for formality... I am a teacher at a middle school, where track suits and sweats are deemed acceptable. I'm no fashionista, but it's terribly sad that I too am the best dressed at my work.

Looking for a new pair of "work" boots.

GTs or 1460 DMs (MIE, of course)?

(Black Cherry vs. Cherry Red (Oxblood if I can find them))

*By "work", I mean I'll be working in these on the street and riding a motorcycle in them. I want something that looks good and takes a beating. I'd be scared to run in my Paul Smiths and the like now that I think about it.

I don't have pictures either, but I think these look great with both jeans and chinos. I rock them in the office all the time, and they look good for after work and the weekend too. Don't seem too clunky for me, and I've actually gotten more compliments on them than any other shoes I own.

they run true to size, not DM size. I get 8UK Docs but the Loakes are a 7UK (my usual UK size) and the fit is spot on for me. The Loake burgundy is a great shade too. They ship intl via their website so I'm sure they'd ship these to you. You could also send them that photo and circle the pair you want so there's no confusion. IIRC they were around 120 GBP, which is approx $180 with the current exchange +1 on the comfort of DM wingtips...I have the same ones as Dave and for a teacher they'd make a perfect shoe for comfort and style. My wife wears her oxblood DM maryjanes to teach in as well.

You're pretty much describing my day-to-day wear. I don't own any trainers/sneakers. I have black and brown brogue Docs that I wear with jeans and chinos all the time. As comfortable as anything you could put on your feet and a classy look, IMHO.

Do you have any pictures of them with jeans and/or chinos? I would like to see what they look on someone. Thanks.

Not sure how good Docs are for riding. If I fell off, I'd rather have a thicker hide and sole covering me. I think that Red Wing-style wedge boots are pretty ideal for riding and casual wear.

I own a more recent pair of "Made in China" boots, and a 10 year old pair of "Made in England". The ones made in England are 100 times better. The quality difference is amazing.

Im not sure if I should get them anymore since I am not sure about the black pair. What other boots are there around Doc Marten prices that are decent to get, something you can walk all day in.

GS do you ex/skinheads get annoyed or anything if you see anyone else wearing them who "shouldnt" be, because I dont really the type that likes to start trouble without even realizing it or draw attention in for the wrong reasons :S
