What on earth are these shirts and ties made of? I was looking through Neiman Marcus' website and saw that these shirts are going for $600-660 and his ties were going for $325. That is absurd. What sets his items apart from the traditional lux brands popular here?

Riva cotton.

During NM last call, you can get some of these shirts at 65% off.

Why are they so expensive? Economy of scale is one reason. Only a handful Stefano Ricci stores and some NM and BG carry the brand.

Besides the shirts, he made some of the most beautiful ties in the world.

I just found out that Avon Celli has been making his sweaters.

I have about 3 of his ties, and they are outstanding. The fabric, detail, and drape are outstanding. However, I didn't spend $325. The price you mentioned is for there Luxury line. The $600 plus is for the line that has crystals and other gem stones in the tie. There is one tie that even goes for $1,400 plus.

I saw a black Ricci tie with rows of tiny crystals every couple of inches at NM and it was going for $625.

I think St. Andrews does their suits and sportcoats. I saw just an incredibly made suit and then went to look at it closely with different material on each lapel and like a Madras of fine wool and was just sad so much nice work went into such an unwearable item.

As an added benefit to laser sharp silk printed ties, they double as a pillow when you use a full windsor knot.
