I've recently become a pretty big fan of the new "black label" Safeway select appetizers. Particularly the "Bags Of Gold", which are little spinach and cheese stuffed pastries.

They are awesome. Just thought I'd share.

When did every two-bit brand start introducing a "Black Label"? I think Samsonite has one as well now.

The Safeway Select frozen pizzas are way better than I expected.

I'd thought I share a recent discovery too: chicken. I found this chicken at the local Trade Fair market. It's some generic chicken brand from a farm in PA. It tastes fantastic! Very chickeny, and with just the right amount of fat. It was way better than the national brands, especially the one that starts with P and ends with urdue. Best of all, it's only 99 cents/lb for a whole chicken. I will buy this chicken for all my roasting and soup needs from now.

I prefer safeway purple label over SWBL for a fuller cut on my spinach pastries.

Its not really called black label, it just comes in a black box, and looks somewhat classy compared to other generic/store brands.

There isn't really a unified design theme yet. I think they are still pretty new.

Only on SF would someone take such detailed pics of a frozen pizza. I can't say I dont appreciate it in a weird way.

I hear ya, but I don't have any bespoke shoes or custom suits or anything. I have $4 frozen pizza.

Our local chain, Meijer, has their version of the bags of gold that are pretty good. Probably comes from the same factory as yours.
