I saw that on facebook. Sorry, buddy. You did the mature thing, though. Sometimes love isn't enough.

Sorry to hear about it. I hate to hear about people splitting up, as I'm a sucker for a happy ending. But if you're so sure it's the right thing, better sooner than later.

Matt sorry to hear it ended. She seemed lovely when you were both in Melbourne, but if you were both pulling in opposite directions than it makes sense to put an end to it.

That sounds like mine. My longterm GF, who I actually really really liked, broke up because I wouldn't marry her (it's actually the main reason I left new york). We just didn't have the same kind of plans. It's one of those things that had to be done.

Take some time to just do stupid ****. If you try and be mature, dealing with it head on, you'll just end up completely wasted, 100 miles from where you live in nothing but one sock, lying next to a naked women's tennis player from university of georgia, and not know how you got there.

Sorry that happened man, but I hope it was for the best.

Sorry to hear about that. Things seem surprisingly civil between the two of you, which is always a small consolation.

Dude, sorry to hear this but it sounds like you're taking charge of your well-being which is good to hear.

Similar to what SField said, after a relationship ended I would always take time to do the things that she hated or wouldn't do with me - NO NOT THAT - I mean play some golf, visit strip bars, scotch-and-cigars, what-have-you. Reclaim yourself, at least until the next one comes along.

what kind of girlfriend did you have? Sounds pretty controlling to me.
