Dealing with shiny spots on a suit jacket?

Hey folks,

One of my favorite jackets has developed a few shiny, slightly darkened lines around seams and places where fabric overlaps. I dont know if there is a technical name for this or not. I hope you know what I am referring to.

Is there a way to deal with this problem?

I have the same problem with some of my older jackets.. I believe that happens when the jacket becomes worn out.

I don't know how one would deal with that problem but hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on that..

As far as I know (not an expert), there is no solution to that shining spots. When they are in the elbows and the color/style/fabric of the jacket allow it, you could put some patches (suede, leather, corduroy), but for seams, you are screwed. Any attempts of correction will only make them worse.
