Yeah - definately beats the prices elsewhere. I really wanted those black on black ones, but they were only in a sz 40 IIRC. Local discount store. Not a chain store (TJ Maxx, Marshalls...etc).

I'm going back Thursday with a friend, so if anyone wants a pair let me know. They had the white/black ones in sizes 40-43. Black/Black were, as I stated above, only in a size 40 and there were only two left. IIRC the toes on the black/black were glossy.

Vintage US made long wings from unknown maker. Great patina, just needs a new heel. Pics might follow.

Mind informing me where this Marshalls and this other store are? I live in Uptown so I'm right in the same area.

John Varvatos brown distressed leather Chelsea Boots - retail price $375.

Hooked these up for $120 at an off 5th. They were in the shoe section and I liked them but didn't buy. As I was leaving I saw a sign for 50% off boots. I took them up to the register and had the salesman do a price check and they said it was the regular outlet price of $239. I noted it was a boot and not a shoe and they said "No it's a shoe." I reminded them it's named the "Chelsea Boot." They said "Oh, you're right - it should be considered a boot" and took 50% off. They look great with jeans and I like the distressed leather - I'm not a big fan of shiny shoes unless I'm really dressed up.

They also had several blacks but there was either too much distressing or one had more than the other for an unbalanced appearance. I got really lucky because there was only one brown, it was my size and the distressing was balanced. I would think twice before ordering these on the phone for this reason.
