Been looking for a light wool overcoat and a regular water-proof trench that doesn't look ridiculous on me. Something slim and and probably about mid-thigh to right above knee. I'm 5'7"

Any suggestions?

I bought one from banana republic this month. It's their car coat with the covered buttons. I am also 5'7". It's a coat that actually looks good because it fits so well on my shoulders and chest, which I think is crucial for shorter people.

Also winter boots with 1 inch heels helps a ton.

Not being overly familiar with what's available across the pond I'm not sure I can suggest a specific coat, but have a look at an Epsom styled coat. The slim silhouette should work.

+1. I just bought a charcoal single-breasted wool coat that hits me just above the knee, and I'm 5'5". Fits great.

Try their monogram line. I have a chesterfield coat from that line and it's nice and slim
