What is a 36/46 size coat?

I am confused about some sizing that people post. If I wear a size 46R jacket, and someone posts a jacket that is 36/46 in size, will it fit me? What do those numbers mean? Why are there two of them?

Thank you.

I'm tempted to say yes for comedic reasons.

I wish charity (thrift) shops would work out there are more than one way of stating measurements. I've lost count of the times I've almost seen a bargain when browsing the size tags...

Hmm... I need to visit some thrift shops. I never think of going for some reason.
