So alot of people on the forum seem to be americans, but I have seen some britts, so I wondered if anyone could recommend an alterations tailor in Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks or the surrounding areas. I have just bought a tweed jacket that was vastly above my normal price range and need to get the sleeves shortend, it's only by a fraction but it has functional cuff buttons and I really want someone who knows what they are doing. I suppose I could take it to the shop I bought it from to have the work done, but I would rather find someone good around where I live, possibly as the start of a long relationship.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I would say that your best bet would be to pop to London - having been an honourary Man of Kent for 4 years, I've come across very few tailors in the county working above the level commonly found in dry cleaners' shops (actually, come to think of it, none).

Sorry to Hijack, but...

As a recent migrant from the colony's I'd be interested if anyone has a suggestion for a reasonable in both price and ability tailor around Regent St or the Herne Hill area.

M~
