S is really a very good maker IME,
These are the ASs I have, from different lines but they are all well made,
and the leather is sweet. Comparing to C&Js I own I would say they have similar quality.
Ok, I will let the shoes speak

Some of these are sold, but I have one more, the plaintoe cream suede wingtip from Peal with Dainite sole.

Yep, the run ended about a year ago. Solid shoes. They also make the Orvis wingtip boot.

Why a tribute? I thought the facts on the other thread were, that they are still in business?

Nice however I do have one question which may sound silly......is buying shoes meant to be like stamp collecting?

The photos on this thread make the shoes look much better than retailers' sites! Some lovely shoes here!

Walneal - Those two tone three eyelets are fantastic! I'd love to find a pair.

I have one pair of Sargents that I bought from John Rushton in London that are some of my favorite shoes. A dark brown suede with light brown stitching. Simple and elegant. In fact, I may wear them today!

Also, does anyone know where to get Sargent shoes that are UK D (narrow) widths? I can't seem to find any on Pediwear, Shoes International, etc. If they make them for a certain label I'd be happy to hear which. Thanks for your help.
