RRLs are very, very nice. I own two pairs myself.

Where should I stay tuned to? I think I'll give 'em a shot.

I believe they are the straight dark worn, if that makes sense?

I would be, if I didn't spend all my money on shoes. I have one pair of 501 STFs which I have not yet STF. And two pairs of <dons flame suit> David Chu selfedge jeans which I'd say are probably one-wash--dark, no distressing, have to keep hiding them from my wife lest she wash them by mistake.

I know nothing about denim, and I have no idea whether Chu, which is not really a denim-maker at all of course, used decent denim in these jeans. But I like the cut, esp. sized down 2, and I got them cheap.

My first post was basically a joke. I like this thread. I'm afraid, frankly, to learn more about denim, because I could definitely be obsessive about it if I did, and I can't afford any more obsessions. I was basically just trying to react the same way a friend of mine did when he, first, told me that my Aldens were beautiful, and then, moments later, asked me what they cost.

See above. Was jokey-jokey.

EDIT: Still don't think I'm ready to break the three-figure mark on jeans tho.

that would be like having a beveled waist on Red Wings.

That said, they probably exist.

Now that I think about it, I believe Earnest Sewn does MTM at their main shop

Yes I know of one maker in LA who does bespoke jeans, but the price is very high ($500+) and I don't know if there's really an improvement over "off the rack" jeans, as finding jeans that fit for guys isn't that difficult. I also seriously doubt you will have access to a large range of denim.
