Your "go-to" men's store for formal & sports wear?

What is your "go-to" store? It is unfortunate that Zara construction & fit is garbage because the new store opened in central NJ is actually quite nice with a lot of great looks but junk.

There aren't a lot of great men's stores in NJ. Garmany is not bad but haven't been in a while (in red bank). Bergdorf/Barney's in NY - any others?

Unfortunately, I live in the Midwest. I usually go to NYC frequently to get the hell out of here and of course faithfully stop by Bergdorf Goodman. The wait is always worth it.

Living in Boston and New York, I frequent BB (666 5th and Liberty Plaza), Barneys (Madison Ave and Copley Place).

Zara, CK et al. sell you on the look and temporary fit. Once you wash many of these items, they will lose that initial fit and you will need to buy more. That's how they do repeat business.

Hugo Boss is more expensive but way better. I have quite a few of their shirts and none of them have lost their fit and have become softer - and more comfy - after washing.

I think many of us don't have a "go-to" men's store. I certainly don't. For suits and jackets, I rely on my friends in Kowloon (W.W. Chan for the uninitiated) and for my remaining apparel...wherever: Saks Off-5th, Nordstrom's, Costco, L.L. Bean, Lands' End and Target would be my primary sources in recent years. Oh, and I can't forget the A-E Cabazon outlet, of course.

Same for me, with the exception of drinkwaters. Haven't heard of that store, I will have to check it out. Not a ton of options in Boston, but there are definitely some good stores. Stels in particular has a great selection.

I recently moved a few blocks away from Drinkwater's, so I'm looking forward to taking advantage of that.
