Using (women's) silk scarves as pocket squares

That's the problem: the bulk. They're just too large, in almost every case.

I have done this with a few belonging to the gf. I think it depends on the scarf and the jacket. The one I have the most luck with is 24 inches square and very thin. It is bright pink, mid grey, and dark (navy) purple. I wear it with a grey, charcoal, and purple rl polo tweed. The thinness of the silk, and the heft of the tweed leads to a minimal amount of bulk. I think I use this scarf more than the the gf, it may soon be moving in with my things.

I wear one of my wife's on occasion. It's not too large and is a nice Autumn print.

I always reckoned doing so harkened back to the original days of a gentleman carrying a woman's token.
