The sheer assymetry of the FIH knot just repulses me. Am I the only one who feels this way?

I prefer the assymetry of the FIH as opposed to the symetry of the windsor.

I wouldn't call it ugliest tie knot ever, now that Glennie posted a new thread.

stfunoob. ! Just kidding. I have a friend who is an engineer and he is very well dressed, but he hates asymmetry (probably due to his profession) and the guy is a posterchild for symmetrical dressing. Even his PS have symmetrical peaks. Unfortunately he doesnt have 2 breast pockets on his jackets

I like it. It has its place. Also, I am lazy and its super easy to tie.

I believe many people live in some bizarre world where the appeal of a tie is based on the difficulty required in tying the knot. This is absurd, but often leads to the Windsor being the 'king' of knots. It is a pity. Also, at school the four in hand was what everyone wore, without knowing how great it was, so, I suppose, many have bad memories of the knot.

Symmetry in everything is quite anal.

I wouldn't call it the ugliest, but it's my least favorite out of the 4 popular knots. I still use a FiH on my knits only because I'm terrible at tying them anything else. I use a Pratt at about 4 days a week.
