Do trees stretch suede shoes?

Just picked up some nice suede zegnas at Saks.

First pair of suede - it seems like if I put trees in these they will stretch much more so than leather. Is this an issue - the shoes fit well right now and I don't want to make them too loose. Thanks

If the leather is strechted power is used and the shoe will be damaged (most of the power will be in the heel, which deforms the heel first).

A shoe tree will bring a shoe back in his original form (the creases disappear). There is nothing stretched and there is not much power needed.

If the shoe tree is too large or the spring within the tree is too strong it could apply too much power to the shoe. Normally however the forces are not as big as to do any harm. For moccasins however I prefer fold up trees.
