Do you ever remove embroidered logos/lettering from your clothing?

I'm doing so to a jacket right now. I know someone will recommend to just buy un-logoed clothes to begin with...

Another vote for almost always.

Logos and writing are a turnoff to begin with, but occasionally you find something nice with a huge ugly logo...I was pissed off in a shop once, and told them to remove the Lacoste crocs from the polo shirts I bought. (Long story)

You need one of those stitch-cutter things that come with sewing-machines.

I took the pocket stitching off my nudies. That was labour intensive.

Logos are damn annoying unless you're wearing it be display the irony and are damn clever about it. It's amazing how many guys walk around with shirts with oversize logos of Budweiser, Nike, Hard Rock Cafe, whatevah. If clothes say something about the man in them, what's the message--"Hi I'm a drone who enjoys free advertising for a marketing and branding firm that thinks I'm a pathetic dupe?"

But probably not worth the effort to dislodge an embrodiered or well-stitched brand insignia, unless it really looks obnoxious.

Only if the garment is of good enough quality. ie. I wouldn't remove the Lacoste croc because I'd be left with a naked, sub-par polo.

I try, but usually end up ruining the clothing.

I think there's way too much emphasis on ridding clothes of any and all logos. I'm with you guys for the most part about the large or tacky logos. But something like the Lacoste alligator; who cares?

Not on emroidered logos. I've tried removing one on a polo, ended up with a big hole on the chest. Unless it's something easy like stitched tags, I wouldn't waste my time with it.

Never done it myself, but I don't wear things with huge logos either. The tiny Lacoste or Polo logo doesn't bother me.

I've read that a razorblade is more effective than a seam ripper at taking these off, though.

I can't imagine the story that leads up to you convincing someone to rip crocodiles off a shirt because it offends your sensibilities.

To those who remove branding: How will strangers know how much you paid for your jeans? Or that your fleece pullover is really from the GAP? What's the point of shopping at GAP if no one even knows it.

Heh, it's not that the tiny crocodiles offend my sensibilities that much - the woman in the shop was condeescending, and just oversold the brand enough to annoy me. She had a priceless expression on her face when I asked her to remove the logos, wich made it worth the trouble. Childish, I know. I was young.
