I like and own two Allen Flusser books, he seems to know a lot of about clothing, and from reading him I imagine he has good taste. Yet I have not, since my time on these MB's, seen one picture in which his clothing was exceptional, sometimes he looks plain odd. Why is this?

I have seen pics of him from the '70s and '80s in which he looks really great.

Surprised he hasn't cropped up in your other thread... He does mention patronizing the Continental Baths...

Is he light in those loafers?

I think he looks rather constipated in most images rather than gay.

At the time that picture was taken, Flusser was the head designer for Pierre Cardin (sort of like being a celebrity chef's executive chef: you design the menu based on his ideas, he gets all the credit). Alan went out of his way to dress as completely opposite as possible from everything he was designing. You want to ***** about drape, now's the time.

The extensive bio that is/was on Flusser's site was extremely interesting. This was before Cardin became completely licensed and banal. The boutique in Paris on Fbg St Honore is very, very weird.

So I guess he was "the French Alan Flusser" before the French Alan Flusser?
