This thread is " Ask A Question, Get An Answer..." Is that the best you have? I expected more.

Do you have a rule or approach to deal with shorter clients?

My Question I saw this pair of shoes I like but they have rubber soles which I do not want. Could I get them replaced with a leather sole? How much would this run me?

This thread delivers!

Chris, I accept your discount. I'll be by as soon as I can raise the scratch. Do you accept unmarked non-sequential small bills?

Jferg, it depends on the shoes. If they are welted, then yes. If they are glued, probably not, and it probably wouldn't be worth it in any case.

Newbie question: Does the jacket covering-your-butt rule really apply if you have short legs?

so I have a 2 Button Single Breasted Double Vent slim fit suit that's got quite a bit of waist suppression. The problem I see is taht the back vents sort of "kick" out, ie the back flap doesn't lie flat. I feel like it emphasizes the backside...

any ideas what might be causing this?
(I'm not sure if there might be too much waist suppression? maybe the jacket length is too short?)

Thanks!

I once read about adding little weights to the corners of the vents, so that the cloth hangs straight. I've never seen this in person though, just ask your tailor?

Thanks for the idea, in the end I just ended up actually sewing the vents down, sort of solved the problem.

subtle bump on what should have been a more useful thread...

a question about something not discussed much here... can someone please explain to me a bit about "Quarters" of a suit? I just purchased a suit where it seems a bit off. It's single breasted, rounded bottoms, but when buttoned the two sides completely overlap. It's slim fit through the waist area and the button+hole are correctly places, it just seems odd. Thoughts? Thanks
