What do you think about the Hermès H-belt?

(For casual use, mostly with jeans.)

I like Hermès and LV a lot more than the average forumner but their belts are atrocious unless your name is Horace and everyone loves the private joke.

Buy it, don't be deterred by the haters on this forum. They mostly likely can't afford it and are just jealous and sour-grape.

By combining the H-belt with that Briggs carry-on you are asking in the other thread, you'll have so much class going and be top of the heap.

+1. Also, you can save some bucks and get this buckle with a plain belt but keep the look: http://www.bodycandy.com/mas_assets/pixel.gif http://www.bodycandy.com/cgi-bin/item/BELT-PLAIN-H

I think it's a nice looking belt for wearing with jeans. It occupies the middle ground between something to dressy to wear with a suit and too "streetwear" looking. I like belts in that category.

I'd be tempted to buy one if it wasn't so astronomically priced.

The H belt looks nice, but I fear it walks the line near the Hermes ties with the repeating "H" . . . a little too close to just plain advertising. Fine for polo shirts, but not for high quality leather goods; might be like Edward Green putting a little gold "EG" on the toe.

Not really if your first or last name begins with an 'H'

I recall seeing somewhere recently that the Hermès leather goods were held in high regard, so I wanted to see how people here felt about these belts.

Personally I'm trying to avoid overt branding as much as possible, so I propably wouldn't wear them. But for logoed stuff I do think they're at the nicer end.

Sounds like a LOT for a leather belt. And what's so amazing about a big H as a belt buckle.

If you've seen Hitch, they look pretty good!

I wear an Hermes belt for formal wear. Can't say I can pull off the casual look with Jeans... much prefer a brown belt with a traditional brass type buckle when it comes to jeans...

Hermes leather quality is second to none. The leather is so soft and luxurious looking. The quality of the buckle is excellent. Built to the same standards as a fine watch case.

Worth every penny.

The only time I saw one that I really liked, was an unbelievable sensual woman, in jeans and boots, with a perfectly fitted white dress shirt. Everything about her was casual and not overly flashy....except the belt. You had to look at the bright gold H, holding up her very low, low riders.....that was the point.
She was at least 40 and sexy beyond most 25 yr olds dreams!

On a man......not so sure it will carry the same power.
