I am thinking of getting my first pair of MTO G&Gs. What do current owners think? I know they are beautiful, but do they last? Are they high quality? And most of all, are they worth the $1K+?
Thanks.

It depends on what 1k$ is worth to you and what other options you got.
If you live in europe I'm pretty sure you can get bespoke for that money (plane tickets included).

I noticed they took the price list off of the website.

I have 2 G&G MTO shoes...the Warwick shoe and the Wigmore boot and feel both are worth it

The shoes fit great (Tony Gaziano measured me)...and I'm left pondering how much better can the fit of bespoke shoes be. These are the best fitting shoes I've ever owned

Will kindly noted the improved exchanged rate makes the shoes more desireable for Americans

I was last quoted £500+Tax for the shoes and £75+Tax for the trees.

But how do I know what leather/last/size to get? I'm in the US, not Europe.

1) I personally don't like the more agressive lasts. Nor do I really dig even the soft square. Soft round is the one for me. They should all fit the same, the only difference should be the toe shape.

2) Take this for what it's worth. I wear an 11.5 D in EG and have found that an 11 E in G&G fits me best. That also happens to be my Lobb size, so if you know your size in Lobb, it might be best to just order that.

The more aggressive lasts favor a smaller foot aesthetically. I can see how they would fall apart in larger sizes.

I finally got a couple pairs of G&G recently in their stock shoe last and they are very nice.

This is definitely true. People with large feet should not wear the beautiful G&Gs. They are sure to make you look like you have clown feet.

1) Do you get the VAT back on a USA delivery?
2) Will they put on steel taps before shipping?
3) How do these prices compare to EG or Lobb?
4) Were I to want some classic Lobb models instead, what is the cheapest way to get them? Order them from the factory? London? NYC?

1) No VAT is charged for US deliveries.
2) Yes for a modest upcharge.
3) They are a bit better.
4) Order them from Lobb London.
