Fellas: I got them from Alden Shop in SF, and they were on sale for $200 (I think they retailed for ~$350). I got the impression that they had very limited sizes left. Also worth noting: they are on the TruBalance last, so you may have to go down a half a size.

Why do people like these again?
I always had the feeling this would be like the MC section getting wet and creating threads over Hugo Boss or Thomas Pink...

The finishing is terrific, the construction is top notch for the pricepoint, and, combined with the good lasts, these are nice boots. Giorgio Armani said that American's make the best casual footwear. I am inclined to agree.

I'd agree also. Besides my Quoddy's, all of my casual footwear is from Alden. They fall short in dressier shoes though, if you prefer the lasts of their European competitors.

Robin, I'm curious how you wear them casually. Do you have any pics? I'm assuming it is a EG/workwear aesthetic but I could be wrong....

Jet, your mailbox is full so couldn't respond to your pm..... If you email Adam over at Alden of Carmel with any sizing questions he is extremely helpful.

I actually didn't size down on the Trubalance. I've tried on both normal and sized down and I could go either way.
