So I'm up in the air about my next order from Rubinacci. Please help me decide on two garments. Write in requests gladly accepted.

Should we assume that you don't already have any of the choices listed here?

Yes. Assume my closet is clean except for my previous order; gray DB, navy sportcoat, green with multi-color overcheck tweed sportcoat.

Single-breasted shetland odd jacket with something less than 3 buttons on the cuff.

If you don't have a grey single-breasted suit you're happy with, I think that has to be the choice by default

I don't know how much you travel for work...if you do, navy three piece, if not, navy pinstripe two piece.

I think either executed by Rubinacci would look great on you.

You know, of course, that you can't lose on any of those choices.

I voted Navy 3 piece since you do not already have a solid Navy. Also you can choose to sport the Navy sans vest to make it more versatile. Unless of course Rubinacci cuts his 3 piece jackets differently than his non vested suits. If that's the case I'd go with Navy pin.

Maybe things are different in the ATL, but I'm finding that I have very little use for tweeds.

So I voted for either of the SBs since there are a lot of instances where you'll want to wear a suit but not a DB.

But I agree that you can't really go wrong.

When you put in an order for additional jackets from Rubinacci, how do you do the fitting(s)? Are you traveling to Naples or London?

On the basis of the assumption about your current wardrobe, your next order has to be a navy suit--three-piece all the better. But a DB POW check sounds awfully tasty.

I wouldn't get a three piece, but that is just me.

Why is that? Is there a functional way in which a three piece is different from a two piece aside from having a vest? I don't own one, but have always imagined that if you wanted a two piece for the situation, you just left the vest in the closet.

I don't like vests, and I like belts.
