I sadly concur. I think an intervention may be in order.

Could the "NO Bumping" rules in the B&S forum be more prominently displayed or something? It's a minor pet peeve, but it seems like older sellers/members are abiding by this, but lots of newer members are not. It's a little annoying to see "Hey, just a bump to get you up this morning!" or "Hey guys buy this it's so great and cool and cheap!" for an item that nobody wants or that is already way overpriced (or, worse, just a link to their ebay auction). I'm seeing this a lot in the Streetwear sales area... but maybe I'm just grumpy this morning.

No offense, but I don't think the forum should be changed just so you guys can break the rules at your place of work with greater ease and comfort. If the browsing is distracting/NSFW or something your boss wouldn't want you doing, then the choice is pretty simple: DON'T do it at work. I'd also like to roll my Lazyboy recliner from my livingroom into my work office and a Fridge next to my desk where I can keep Cold Beer, but my boss wouldn't like this either. As such, I wait to do said things until I get home. In short, I'd say stop whining about it and "play" at home.

SW&D people often have their stuff crosslisted in superfuture and/or niketalk, where bumping is allowed, while SF is probably the only viable platform to buy/sell MC goods other than eBay... Thus the disparity you see. In any case, just report the offending threads, m@t or J will do something about it.

Not everyone get to work in academia, you know.

I think, at the end of the day, we don't want SF to be a place people get ashamed if caught looking at. What is acceptable to people who have been around the block for a while might not be so for new members.

Both of your above posts make sense. But, again, at the end of the day, I think the choice of 1) "filtering/diluting" SF to make it more work-safe or 2)Just waiting to browse/play on SF until after work... seems a pretty easy one. You don't HAVE to surf at work...

Yeah, I was trying to be pithy...

Anyway, the issue doesn't really affect me either way... I just have been on enough internet fora over the years that whenever the mods start playing around with too much "this is okay, this is NOT okay, this kind of posting is good, this is bad" etc., the forum is usually worse off because of it.

If I go to bed or go to class, and leave my IE open for a few hours while I'm away, does it say I'm online on SF the entire time? Or does it go idle after 10 minutes and say "last activity at xxxxxx?" Sometimes I forget to close things downa nd I don't watn people to think I'm ignoring a PM or something for an entire day when I'm actually just at school.

While we're discussing censorship, I would like to respectfully request that everyone tone it down with the humor. I surf at work and it's getting embarrassing when I laugh involuntarily at funny posts. My bosses think I'm having fun on their dime and then will seek to pay me less.

Isn't it illegal to go below minimum wage?

Not if you're 1099. Or working for base + tips.

Yeah, when did they give T an internet connection on his forklift? It's bad to post and drive.

The 6 months I spent driving a forklift was so much more fun than working in an office, I can't even describe it.
