Looking to go find some horn buttons in New York as Mr. Ned does not stock them. What color button is best? I was thinking black. Also let me know if anyone has a button store recommendation in NYC other than Tender Buttons. Thanks

Tender is the best. The traditional choice would be dark gray. Dark brown also looks nice. I have gray suits with each.

Thanks. If I go with dark brown buttons does that mean I should only wear dark brown shoes with the suit or are black shoes also acceptable?

Well, I wear black shoes with my blue suit that has brown horn buttons, so I say, go for it.

You can find a dark horn that will have veins of black, dark brown and even hints of dark ivory. That will look very handsome and far more interesting than a solid color. They will work with any color shoe that works with Charcoal.

The store in Chicago closed and the building was torn down for the new Barney's building. They did not relocate. It really was a great resource for buttons. You are lucky to have Tender in NY.
