Cottesmore Boots - real or fake?

I have some doubts about these boots. First they are in dark brown, which is weird because CJ doesn't seem to be making Cottesmores in this color. Second, this person also sold similar boots, with a similar description, but in a different size. This is another red flag as the explanation why these were marked down, was the same...

So, what do you think? Are they real or fake?

Here's the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1451-CROCKETT-...19115004r25774

thanks,

C&J made the Cottesmore in dark brown for Barneys. I posted pics of mine here.

Good luck.

Disagree, I have ordered a few boots form C&J and I resold all of them just to get rid of them.
Very few British makers ,namely Lobb and E. Greene know how to make an elegant Chelsea or Jodhpurs boots.
Crockett does not do good crimping job on an instep of the boot thus making the instep line extend way too far to the tip of the shoe in a very ugly fashion. Very reminiscent of R.M Williams ugliness but at twice the price.
Look at the profile of these boots; the tighter boot fits around the instep of the foot the better (more elegant) it looks. These are just mediocre at best..

I'm just curious why anybody would bother faking C&J boots? LV, Gucci, okay, but C&J? Also, the pics and the soles and such look like C&J to me...

Plus, why brand fakes as SUBS?

Exactly. Further, I don't see that enough people are familiar with C&J or that the brand is "hot enough" to make it worth the while of counterfeiters (not to mention that there isn't a lot of profit margin for a counterfeiter to bother welting, using full-grain leather, etc.)
