Bloomies prices their better calf Paraboot lace-up models @ around $400
Plus, they tend to be finished better than any of the below

I like all three pairs. I'd consider them on sale.

Even during the once-a-year 25% plus 15% OFF sale, the price of those boots (with tax) would be touching the $700 mark.
Somebody oughta tell BB corporate they aren't the only game around in terms of who offers Paraboot footwear

The shell boots look good, and will look better on discount. However, the shells were excluded from the most recent BB 25% off sale.

I wonder how much the "346" version will cost.

BB has unpredictable on-off discount policy towards cordo products.
This past June cordo Aldens stayed @ 25% OFF nearly the entire month.
However during summer of '07 that wasn't the case.
Go figure

If those boots are gonna be a limited run I'd say - fuhgedaboutit

I agree. Lately, I've been looking to Rider for my shoe needs, and it's working out well.

You've seen Paraboot at Bloomingdales? They don't seem to have them on their website, I wonder if the NYC store has some.

Pardon my ignorance, but what makes the Paraboot so special exactly? I've never heard of them and I like the look of these, but not for $1k.

Paraboot are a French brand that supposedly made the first alpine hiking shoe. Their rubber sole was specifically designed for the harsh conditions at the time. Leather soles are also available. The shoes are well made using Goodyear construction and good quality leathers. I have a pair of oxblood wholecuts from them. I don't see them in the shops too often but they do collaborations every once in a while, BB is one, I believe SOPHnet did a boat shoe deal with them a few years back as well.

O, and for price reference, I paid $500 (full retail) about two years ago for my pair.

They're a French company that I know mostly for their foul weather shoes. I think of them as the French Allen Edmonds: sturdy, no nonsense shoes. From what I remember, that's how they used to be priced, too, not cheap but good value. Unless they have upped their game considerably since I last looked, they should not cost as much as JM Westons. For reference, I think I paid under 300EUR for both of my pairs. When a dollar was worth more than a euro. Interestingly, at least in the pictures above BB does not seem to be carrying their signature Avingon model. The BB ones do avoid the tacky little green tag, at least.
